In this post I explain the You Had Me At Bacon design inspiration. This design, just like the If You Grill Meat People Will Come design, is a play on a famous movie line.
You Had Me At Bacon Design Inspiration
Where Did The Slogan Come From?
The slogan is a play on the famous line from Field of Dreams, a movie released in 1996, which goes: “You had me at hello.”
If you can’t watch the video above then here’s the GIF of the famous line from the character in the movie:
I remember this line used on different shows and sitcoms during the late 1990s while I was growing up. Yep, I grew up in the 90s. I turned 40 this year and it’s unbelievable to think 1990 was 32 years ago! Oh, I’m off track. Let me get back to how I came up with the slogan.
After years of replaying the phrase in my head I came up with the slogan for this design naturally. I love bacon, and if my crush came to me offering me a pack or two of those delicious strips he would have me instantly! Yes, I love bacon that much. And if I can find a guy who will purchase it constantly I would marry him. “Brittany, that’s a bold statement.” Yes it is. However, have you seen the prices of bacon in the store lately? Even store-brand bacon is expensive now.
How Did I Create The Design?
I get my images from Unsplash and Pexels. The images for the You Had Me At Bacon design inspiration was to be strips of bacon falling down. Because that’s the vision I had in my head when I came up with this slogan. Plus, I would love bacon strips falling down on me.
So I searched for just that and I found the perfect image: Strips of bacon. I downloaded and edited the images in GIMP to duplicate the strip, space them around the background, and added the slogan and do other fixes.
