Stop Eating Sugar In 1 Week
stop eating sugar | a spoon of sugar

Date

I was a sugar addict. I included something sweet with every meal. Oreos was my favorite cookie and I could eat six or seven cookies at once. Ice cream was another favorite sweet of mine and I would eat big scoops of it. And cake was my favorite dessert of all time. It didn’t really matter what type of cake as I ate all types. Even though I loved sugar it didn’t love it back. I gained so much weight from it, and it made me feel sluggish. When I decided to get healthy a few years ago I finally said no to sugar. Now I want to tell you how I did it so you can do the same. This is how to stop eating sugar in 1 week.

Stop Eating Sugar In 1 Week: Remove One Sweet From Your Diet Completely

The first tip on how to stop eating sugar in 1 week requires you to look at the food you eat everyday, find the one that contains the most sugar, and stop eating it.

For many people, the top culprit is a sweetened beverage like one of the following:

  • Soda/Pop
  • Sweet Tea
  • Lemonade
  • Fruit Juice

If this is the case, you have to remove it from your life now if you want to rid yourself of the sugar craving. Go in the kitchen and pour the beverage down the sink. I’m not kidding. Don’t worry about “wasting food” as these drinks aren’t food. They’re empty calories that cause harm.

Now the above may not apply to you. Some people get their sugar from sweets like candy and/or baked goods. Again, remove that item from your hoe. Throw it away!

Finally, if you’re a fast food lover, that’s probably the largest source of sugar in your diet. Oh, you think your burger and fries doesn’t have that much sugar? You’re wrong. This website shows the top 35 sugariest restaurant meals and this website shows the sugar in fast food in teaspoons. Not only cutting out fast food will help out your health, but you’ll save money too!

Stop Eating Sugar In 1 Week: Add One Low-Sugar Fruit Into Your Diet

Yes, you read the heading correctly. The second tip on how to stop eating sugar in 1 week is to keep your boy from going into a bad sugar craving. That happened to me, and fighting that craving is difficult, let me tell you. Although I didn’t give into my cravings some people aren’t as strong. And I don’t want you to give in, undoing all your progress.

That’s why I suggest adding low-sugar fruit into your diet. Eating one of these when you’re tempted can help with cravings. Now what are low-sugar fruit? Here’s a list:

  • Lemons
  • Limes
  • Berries (strawberry, blackberries, and raspberries)
  • Kiwis
  • Grapefruit
  • Avocado
  • Cranberries
  • Apricots (fresh)

Now just because these fruits are low in sugar doesn’t mean you can eat as many as you want. If you do, you’ll end up eating more sugar. Also, most servings sizes of fruit is 1 cup, so invest in a measurement cup if you don’t have one.

Find An Activity To Distract Your From Sugar Craving

Like I said, the cravings are going to come, and you can only eat 1 serving of fruit at a time. So you need another option to help with temptation: Activities!

Participating in a non-food hobby, or starting a new non-food hobby is a great way to distract yourself.

Reading a book or a magazine is a good choice. Along with going out for a walk, either by yourself or with someone else. Call someone you haven’t talked to in a long time. Heck, even doing the chores you put off can distract you from those sugar cravings.
