Meat Heals Design Inspiration

Where Did The Slogan Come From?

This slogan came from my time hanging around the Carnivore Diet community. At one time I was deep into the lifestyle and I even ate meat only for an entire week to try it out. While I discovered I couldn’t fully dedicated myself to eating only meat because I missed eating berries and chocolate, I saw how others could. The diet kept me not only full but made me feel better. I didn’t experience any acne which I sometimes suffer from, and I slept better. After feeling the healing power from eating meat that’s when I came up with the slogan Meat Heals. From there I knew I had to create a design around this phrase.

How Did I Create The Design?

I get my images from Unsplash and Pexels. However, the Meat Heals design inspiration was to not use any images at all. I wanted to have clothing and accessories resembling a prescription. Because that would be the best way to showing the healing power of meat. Plus, people know what a prescription looks like. Well, maybe not today because most doctors send in prescription digitally to pharmacies. Yet, when I was younger the doctor would write out the prescription onto their pad, rip off the piece of paper, give it to me, and then I would take it to the pharmacy to give to them to fill.

To replicate the prescription for this design took some research. I reviewed different images of prescription pads online to determine any inconsistencies. After I found what must be included I created the text and lines in GIMP. This took a good amount of time because I placement of the text and the lines had to be correct.

As for the “medicine” prescribed I wanted to showcase the different types of meats one could eat to get healthy. I had fun with that part. Overall. this design is one of my favorite and I wear the t-shirt quite often.
