Lady Gaga’s Meat Dress: Let’s See If She Had Good Taste
Lady Gaga's Meat Dress

When I told people about Let’s All Meat on Twitter I got a response from one of my followers that said “I’m picturing that time Lady Gaga just wore steaks.” That gave me the idea to write about Lady Gaga’s meat dress and determine if she had good taste. Get it? I’m using good taste in two ways: Fashion and the tastiness of the beef used. Oh, I’m spending too much time explaining this. Let me get on with this post.

Lady Gaga’s Meat Dress: The Type Of Meat Used

According to the Wikipedia article, the designer behind Lady Gaga’s meat dress used raw beef. He specifically used flank steak. Let’s discuss that cut of meat.

Flank steak is versatile but it can be a tough cut to eat because it comes from the abdominal muscles of the cow. Think about your core and how you use it everyday. Yeah, that’s why that cut of beef is tough. Yet, don’t let this info about flank steak from keep you from eating it. It’s a good alternative to skirt steak and you can grill, roast, broil, or saute it.

Flank steak can be a difficult cut of steak for people to cook because it’s so lean they cook it too long or on too high heat. If you want to cook this cut, you need to slice it against the grain to make it tender and don’t cook it beyond medium temperature.

Finally, this cut works well with marinades and I highly recommend you use one or make your own.

Did She Have Good Taste?

I believe that, yes, Lady Gaga had good taste when it came to her meat dress. Flank steak has some cons I spoke of above yet I’ve always enjoyed eating a properly-cooked cut. I’ve eaten flank steak in tacos, fajitas, and in some Asian dishes.
